Companies more often choose independent advisors
Financiële dagblad (3-10-2014) in relation to the recent bankruptcy of Boer & Croon:
Boer & Croon came into severe problems due to a decreasing number of advisory and consultancy engagements. Companies have become much more critical and hesitant in hiring advisors and consultants and mostly choose independent advisors and consultants because their rates are cheaper. Boer & Croon expected to have remedied the situation at the end of 2013 after having reduced the number of consultants from 90 to 30. They expected to be able to continue operations with a lower number of consultants, but the situation did not improve. That is why they decided to stop now, according to Boer & Croon.
